Another Quick Dive...
Whippets, one of the newest autoflowers from Automatic Genetics, packed with FIRE from its Gushers and Triangle Kush (TK) lineage, has officially hit the market. Bred out of a creative desire to improve the autoflowering gene pool, let's dive deeper into what makes this variety worth adding to your collection!
Gushers: Parent of Whippets
Known for its candy flavor and sweet profile, Gushers - also known as Gusherz - is a tasty cultivar bred by the infamous Cookie Fam Genetics.
Developing its own flavor-forward following, this cross is powered by Gelato #41, a well-known varietal from Sherbinksi (Mario Guzman), and Triangle Kush (TK) - another well-known staple in the OG community from Marty "TK" Calabrese.
Gelato #41, also called Bacio Gelato or Bacio, is one of Sherbinski's many creations. This phenotype of Gelato (Sunset Sherbet x Thin Mint Cookies), as described by the breeder smells like Cream, Hazelnut and Spiced Chocolate.
Triangle Kush, also known as Florida OG, has a storied history that starts in the East Coast, spreads West, then eventually finds its way worldwide. An accidental pollination between Hindu Kush and The Emerald Triangle, TK is thought to have come from the same seed stock as to what would eventually become known as OG Kush.

Triangle Kush: Parent of Whippets
As described in an interview with breeder Marty TK Calabrese:
I brought back a pack of Hindu Kush seeds as well as many others from Amsterdam, and those eventually crossed with a strain we already had in Florida called The Emerald Triangle.
I had the Hindu Kush plants growing near the air conditioning unit, and one of the plants started to make unseen pollen, which was spread across the entire room through the AC vents. We had no idea it happened until we were harvesting and cleaning up the plants and heard seeds dropping into our bins.
Marty TK Calabrese continued to explain:
The main person I sold most of it to was my long-time friend Craig who lived near Orlando. He then sold it to his circle of friends – two of which were the ones who found the OG Kush and Triangle Kush seeds. We ended up getting the Triangle Kush seed back in clone form right away. The other one was just called “The Kush” at that time and made its way to LA from Florida around ‘96, where it was given the name OG Kush later on. Once it made its way to the West Coast, it exploded in popularity.

Whippets: an Autoflowering Powerhouse
As new as they come, this autoflowering powerhouse of Gushers from the Cookie Fam crossed to the infamous Triangle Kush from Marty TK Calabrese should have a place in any seed collection.
